Posts & topics
How do I create a post?
On Discover, tap the + button in the bottom right corner to share photos with text, everyday snaps or short videos. You can also add trending topics or start a fun poll.
After you post, it goes through a quick safety review. Once approved, it shows up on Discover and your profile right away!
Open this question →Why is nobody seeing my post?
If your new post isn't getting the reach you expected, here's why that might be:
1. It's under review: some posts with photos or certain keywords need a few seconds to a few minutes to be checked.
2. It breaks the rules or redirects people elsewhere: posts with external links, contact info, ads or crude or sensitive words get limited recommendations.
3. It was just posted: our recommendation system is still matching your post to the right audience, so give it a little time.
Tip: share real moments from your life, use clear, good-looking photos and add relevant topics to get noticeably more reach!
Open this question →What are topics and how do I join one?
Topics are places where people gather to talk about shared interests, trending things or everyday life.
Browse the topic hub to find ones you like. When creating a post, tap #Topic to add your post to a topic, or tap Join discussion right on the topic page.
Great posts get featured by our team at the top of the topic and in the featured feed, bringing tons of reach and likes from across the app!
Open this question →Who can see my posts?
By default, your posts show up on Discover, where people in your community and anyone visiting your profile can see them.
Want more privacy?
Go to Settings → Privacy settings → Post history to choose what's shown (for example: only the last 3 days, the last 6 months, or only you). Strangers who don't follow you also see a limited number of posts when they visit your profile, to protect your privacy.
Open this question →How do I delete my post?
Open the post, tap the ... button in the top right corner, and select Delete.
The post is immediately removed from Discover, topics and your profile, along with its likes and comments.
Open this question →Where can I see my likes and comments?
When someone likes or comments on your post, or @mentions you in a comment, you'll find it all in Notifications.
A red dot lets you know when there's new activity. Tap a notification to jump straight to the post or comment and reply.
Open this question →Can I edit a post after it's published?
To give you room to fix mistakes, Premium members get the exclusive Edit post feature, which lets you tweak the text or photos of recent posts.
Once you save your changes, the new content goes through another safety review. If you need bigger changes or don't have Premium, you can always delete the post and publish it again!
Open this question →How do I show only my recent posts on my profile?
Go to Me → Settings → Privacy settings, then choose an option under Post history:
· Everyone: show all the posts you've ever published.
· Last 3 days / Last 6 months: visitors only see your recent posts, keeping your older ones private.
· Only me: hide your posts from your profile.
Tip: whatever you choose, you can always see your full post history in Me → My posts.
Open this question →What can I do about posts I don't want to see?
Tap ... in the top right corner of a post, then choose:
· Not interested: we'll show you fewer posts like this or with similar tags.
· Hide their posts: hide all posts from this person so you won't see them again.
· Report: if the post involves scams, sexual content, ads that redirect people elsewhere, or harassment, report it and our safety team will look into it quickly.
Open this question →How do polls work?
When creating a post, tap the Poll icon and enter your question and options (2-4 options, and you can set how many days it runs).
Others can vote just by tapping an option while browsing, and results update in real time.
Bonus: voting on other people's polls counts as positive interaction, which helps boost your activity and keep your Trust score healthy!

Following & chat
How do following and followers work?
Following is a one-way connection: when you follow someone, their latest posts show up in your Following feed right away, and they get a new follower notification.
When you follow each other, you become mutual friends, making it easier to interact, see each other's posts and chat anytime. You can view and manage everything in Me → Following/Followers.
Open this question →How do I start chatting with someone?
There are two main ways to start a chat on Xiaopai:
1. Through Signal (free and unlimited): pick up someone's signal and reply, or have someone reply to yours. Once either of you confirms the conversation, you can DM right away, with no limits and totally free!
2. Message from their profile (Premium only): if you spot someone you really like on Discover or on their profile, Premium members can tap Message on their profile to start a conversation, with a daily allowance of chats they can start.
Open this question →Why does it say I've used up today's DMs?
To protect the community from mass messaging and keep conversations meaningful, there's a daily limit on starting DMs directly from someone's profile.
· The higher your Premium level, the more chats you can start each day (check your exact allowance in Premium; it resets automatically at 00:00 every day).
Tip to skip the limit: chats started by replying to each other through Signal don't count toward this limit at all and don't use up your allowance, so try Signal to meet new people!
Open this question →Can I start chatting with people without Premium?
Of course! Without Premium, you can still easily reach out through Signal:
· Option 1: send a signal saying what you want to talk about or who you're looking for. Once someone who clicks with you replies, you can chat as much as you like.
· Option 2: browse and pick up other people's signals every day. If one catches your interest, reply directly. Once they confirm, a DM opens right away.
Chats started through Signal are completely free, with no message limits!
Open this question →How do I set an note for a contact?
Open your chat with them and tap the top-right corner to open Chat info (or tap ... in the top-right of their profile), then choose Add a note to add a custom name.
Aliases are only visible to you. Changing or removing one won't notify the other person.
Open this question →What are close relationships and how do I set one up?
Close relationships are a special Xiaopai feature for you and the friends you share everything with (like your best friend, bro or bestie).
Once you're bound, both of your profiles and profile cards show an exclusive relationship badge and a sweet tag.
· How to bind: use a relationship card redeemed in the Points shop (like a Bro card or Sis card) to send them an invite. Once they accept, you're officially bound.
· How to unbind: either of you can request to end it anytime in Me → Close relationships.
Open this question →What if someone never replies to me?
If someone hasn't replied yet, try not to stress:
1. They may be busy with work or school, or have push notifications off. It doesn't necessarily mean they've seen your message.
2. Fill out your profile and post about your daily life to show the real, lively you. It makes you more appealing.
3. Respect their pace: if you've said hi several times with no response, it's time to meet someone new. Messaging over and over may bother them and could be flagged as harassment.
